Associate Instructional Specialist (McNair Scholars Program Academic Coordinator); 85% renewable 12-month appointment.


The McNair Scholars Program Academic Coordinator is to provide personal, career, and academic counseling/referrals and services to federally qualifying students. The Coordinator is responsible for providing research preparation workshops. Additionally, the Coordinator is to provide support for students to achieve admission and funding for graduate degree programs. Position based on federal grant funding.


Master’s degree required. Degree fields include education, counseling, student personnel services, STEM education, or a related field.
Experience in planning and teaching groups, workshops, and/or training programs on graduate school or student success topics.
1-2 years experience with advising/counseling/educating TRIO students, or students from low income, first-generation, or ethnically underrepresented backgrounds on academic, graduate school, career and/or personal issues.
Possess valid driver’s license.
