Accountant - Auditor's Office (Open)
The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2018. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $24.00 - $33.50 per hour.
Professional accounting work involving preparation, maintenance, analysis and auditing of financial records and reports in accordance with County policies, State statutes and federal regulations. An employee in this class is responsible for performing professional accounting functions required for maintaining a variety of departmental and institutional accounts. Duties include analyzing and monitoring financial and budgetary systems, executing complex accounting functions, and recommending improved procedures and methods in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.These work environment factors are general in nature and may vary depending on the specific position being filled. CONSTANT: Sit and near vision. FREQUENT: Bend neck; talk/speak; sit and visual accommodation. OCCASIONAL: Lift and carry up to 10 pounds; rotate neck; static neck position; walk; hear within 5 feet and midrange vision.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting; OR graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in finance and two years full time paid verifiable, accounting related experience.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING ASSESSMENT - (SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS - 100% of the scoring process):
Points will be awarded for job-related experience and education exceeding the minimum qualifications. Only experience occurring during the ten most recent years will be used in determining this assessment.
